White Nationalist today Faces First-Degree Murder in Charlottesville Killing

Detective Young, the sole witness at the hearing, said under questioning by Mr. Fields’s lawyer, Denise Lunsford, which investigators had found no evidence which Mr. Fields was affiliated with any of the groups assembled which day.

The certification of the charges by Judge Downer means which prosecutors will take the case to a grand jury on Monday to seek an indictment.

Earlier inside the day, the judge certified felony charges of malicious wounding against Jacob Goodwin along with also Alex Ramos, who were part of a group accused of beating DeAndre Harris, a black man, in a parking garage during the same outbreak of violence.
